A few days ago I ended my cycle (it was temporary) at the head of the Undersecretary for Regulation of Lotteries, Sports Betting and Commercial Promotions, at Brazil’s Ministry of Economy. It was a period of much effort, learning and growth.
I am very grateful to the fantastic team at SUAE who supported me unconditionally while I was managing the area's processes and projects.
I leave with my head held high, especially in relation to Sports Betting, because as promised in June/2022, at an event in São Paulo, after a lot of work and extreme dedication (exhausting days, weekends, holidays and vacations, included) today we have a draft ordinance (complete and complex) structured, addressing all the necessary topics (following the best practices) for its regulation, awaiting the publication of the Presidential Decree.
In addition, we have the specified data receiver module, work carried out together with the excellent SERPRO staff and the Ministry's IT Directorate, which resulted in the construction of the requirements, data dictionary and codes for generating the data files (the be provided by the operators).
Regarding LOTEX, the paths are paved, just waiting for the new government to decide where to go.
With regard to Commercial Promotions, in addition to the Evaluation of the Regulatory Result on the Commercial Promotions Control System (SCPC), an Ordinance on Risk Analysis of Authorizations is also ready, as well as establishing a Governance Structure for Authorizations and Rendering of Accounts.
Here I would like to thank Bruno Silveira for all the help he gave while he was at SGC, the people at DTI, SERPRO, Alexandre Messa and the entire SEAE team, for the support given to make everything that was built in recent months possible.
Let's move forward, learning, working and trusting in the success of future projects, reaping each day!
