The Belt at stake

Esportes da Sorte brings biggest X1 event to Rio de Janeiro for the first time

As the main sponsor of the event, Esportes da Sorte is setting up the entire structure for X1 Brazil Combate in Rio de Janeiro for the first time this Monday (16), with the most anticipated belt dispute in the last two times. Etinho, who has just won the title in Maceió, faces Paçoca, who conquered a chance by giving a real show in his last game. In addition to Sorte Esportes, the organization has also support from Paybrokers, among others.

The two of them face off in the main match of the night at the Vila Olímpica field in Morro do Vidigal. In addition to the belt dispute, two other classics complete the program: the home team's Matheus Paquetá takes on Bololô from Ceará, while Kaká, one of the great icons of the sport, competes against Ombra after serving a suspension.

X1, a sport inspired by football featuring one-on-one duels each with their own goalkeeper, has gained popularity among Brazilians and has been a success wherever it goes. In addition to packed arenas in the four previous editions held in Fortaleza, Recife, Natal, and Maceió, Combate events have averaged one million views on CazéTV broadcasts. Now, it lands for the first time in the Southeast of the country, with the first stop in Rio and the second in São Paulo on the 20th.

"We are pleased with the rapid expansion of the sport in new regions, and now we have two strategic events, one in Rio de Janeiro on the 16th and the second in São Paulo on the 20th. We are confident that these two major capitals will embrace the sport, as cities across Brazil have done. We have put together excellent game cards, and our expectation is to deliver two historic events, showcasing the X1 Brazil's quality standard for the Southeast of the country," said Davi Oliveira, Project Manager of X1 Brazil.

Etinho, the current champion, took the belt home after defeating Brasil by a score of 4-3 on September 29th in Maceió. The match was highly competitive, but the new number one in the country controlled the actions well and seemed more composed in the final stage.

Meanwhile, Paçoca delivered one of the greatest performances in X1 Brazil. Facing his archrival, Marivanio, the next challenger did as he pleased with the ball, displaying great skill and efficiency.

"I'm going after the belt. I won't rest until I get that belt. I want to win it in Rio de Janeiro, and I'm prepared to face any player in the world. It's a dream for me to be playing on CazéTV, and I'll always go all out," declared the challenger, receiving an immediate response from the current holder of the coveted prize. "I'm going to crumble that paçoca," Etinho declared, even posting a video on social media of himself enjoying a ‘paçoca’ (Brazilian peanut candy) dessert.

Taunts are a part of the sport, which has similarities to MMA. Additionally, athletes enter the arena with characteristic music, and there is an event solely for face-offs before the matches, as UFC fans are accustomed to.

So far, no player has been able to successfully defend their belt after winning it. Coringa was the first champion, defeating Kaká, but he lost the belt to Bolt. The Paulista was then defeated by Brasil, who has now been overtaken by Etinho. The current number one is aiming for this unprecedented achievement.

In addition to Esportes da Sorte, the organization is supported by Paybrokers, Tim, Ifood, and Ciee, and they will award R$ 50,000 to the player who wins the belt and an additional R$ 15,000 to each of the winners in the other two matches.

The event will also feature an All-Star Game between the influencer and X1 pioneer Ney Silva and the challenger from Rio, Pedra Maluco.
