Against Athletico

Reebok and Parimatch debut Botafogo's fourth jersey in the middle of a Brasileirão match

Botafogo debuted the club's fourth jersey in the duel against Athletico, valid for the 28th round of the Brasileirão. The match started on Saturday (21), but only ended on Sunday (22). The club took the field with the fourth uniform, predominantly black, with various yellow details (a color combination that refers to the Parimatch betting website, its main sponsor), at 9:00 PM on Saturday (21).

However, Nilton Santos Stadium suffered four power outages in the first half alone, which resulted in the game being played for 63 minutes, including 18 minutes of added time. After an interval with 10 minutes more than usual, the match was restarted in the second half, but just 5 minutes in, it was once again suspended due to another power outage.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) rescheduled the rest of the match for Sunday (22) at 3:00 PM, with closed doors for safety reasons due to the Flamengo vs. Vasco classic, which was to take place at Maracanã.

For the second part of the game, Botafogo returned with the traditional uniform, featuring vertical black and white stripes.

Manufactured by Reebok, the official sportswear supplier of the club, Botafogo's fourth jersey is inspired by the history of the "Estrela Solitária" (Lone Star), which is part of the team's shield at General Severiano. The symbol was first used by Club de Regatas Botafogo, which later merged with Botafogo Football Club. At the time, the team's athletes used to train in the early morning, under the dark sky, and when they looked up, they saw the planet Venus shining brightly.

The fourth uniform, also known as the "Noite Estelar" (Starry Night), recalls this history, with the black representing the night, while the yellow star emerges "with a unique glow to guide the team towards its triumphs."

"The partnership between Parimatch and Botafogo is a success, and we are excited about this joint achievement. We thought about making the star, which beats in the hearts of the ‘alvinegros’, the protagonist, and we hope that Botafogo's fans enjoy the result. It is a very special moment, and an honor for us to see the club's uniform in harmony with the colors of our brand," said Maksym Tsaryk, the leader of the betting website in the Brazilian market.

"We are very happy to present Botafogo's fourth uniform for the season. It's a concept worked in tune with Parimatch, our great partner and sponsor, who has been with us since the beginning of the project. It was a pioneering activation in football, which no other club had previously carried out and puts Botafogo ahead in the market," added Paula Young, the leader of commercial activations at the club.
