The Municipal Council of Anápolis, one of the most important cities in the state of Goiás, approved the establishment of the Anápolis Municipal Lottery (Lotan), which will be able to explore any lottery modalities provided for in federal legislation.
The text, authored by president Domingos Paula (PV) and vice Jakson Charles (PSB), had a substitute in plenary, which received a favorable vote from 20 councilors present and one vote against, from councilor José Fernandes (MDB).
According to the approved proposal, the public municipal lottery service will be operated directly or indirectly by the Executive Branch, which is responsible for authorizing, accrediting, monitoring, granting, permitting and managing the entire lottery service, being able to delegate such powers to other municipal public administration bodies.
The matter also establishes that the proceeds from the lottery will be used to pay operational expenses, prizes and Income Tax, financing the Social Security Regime for Municipal Employees of Anápolis, in an amount equivalent to 80% of the collection, and financing programs social activities in the areas of sport, culture and tourism, in an amount equivalent to 20% of the revenue.
The matter will be analyzed and sanctioned by the city's mayor, Roberto Naves e Siqueira (PP) for subsequent forwarding of the entire public consultation process to define the exploration model and, then, bidding.
