Although the official appointment of Fernando Garita as CEO of Betsul only took place this week, at the end of October during the SBC Summit Latinoamérica, in Miami, the executive talked exclusively to GMB about his joining one of the most important gaming and betting sites in operation in Brazil.
With more than 20 years in the iGaming industry, Fernando Garita assumes the role of CEO of Betsul at an important moment for both the company and Brazil, on the eve of regulating sports betting in the country.
Betsul, a sports betting house with more than five years on the market, is recognized for providing the best service to its users and now, with the arrival of Garita, it gives an extra touch of focus to the customer experience.
The new CEO adds that he will boost the company's growth with the addition of new games and solutions to “guarantee the best of the brand, with great providers, especially more casino and bingo content that we will integrate into the platform.”
GMB – Congratulations on your appointment as CEO of Betsul. What are your plans for the company?
Fernando Garita – We are working first to integrate the group. It's a new market, a new challenge for me, also as an industry executive. I spent many years at a single company. Now, the idea is to come and work with the entire Betsul group to contribute with all my experience and knowledge of more than 20 years in this sector, to grow and have a stronger website, with more content and specialized customer service, directly for the Brazilian public.
Professionally for Fernando Garita, what does it mean to lead a Brazilian sports betting site?
This is now a very big challenge for me. It's very important, I believe it marks a moment in my professional career in the industry, where we are contributing to something new, to a new country. Now I'm living in São Paulo, so everything changes a lot. We have an excellent work team, very human, very committed and this will make the difference. The group is great. We will always adjust things along the way to offer the best of the brand, with great providers, especially more casino and bingo content that we will integrate into the platform. “Vamos lá” (Let’s go), as they say in Brazil.
Speaking of adding more games and solutions, Betsul is recognized for having an important portfolio. Will your arrival represent even greater growth in this portfolio?
Totally. We now have a timetable for integrating more games and products, and we will do more and more, because it's not just what we already have, but we also need to do what the public wants. We can't wait. New games, new providers, new techniques always come. Now we have artificial intelligence. We will do some things with this too. We will be completely successful.
How do you assess the current situation in the Brazilian market, given that we are in the process of having sports betting regulated and, at least for now, online gambling is being considered as a possibility?
I believe that, like all companies, we expect something more optimized to operate. Indeed, conditions are now very difficult for the operation of sports betting and online casinos. We always have to wait for Brazil. Sometimes things take a while to adjust. We’ll wait attentively to see what happens with the issue of regulation.
Will Betsul apply for a license?
We will have to define the right time, but that would be the idea if everything is in ideal conditions to operate in Brazil.
