“Mineira da Sorte will launch 4 Raspadinha® tickets with a total of US$ 27m in prizes”

Composed of the global giants IGT, Scientific Games and the Brazilian SAGA BGI, the Consórcio Mineira da Sorte is in the launch phase of Raspadinha®, the first product after winning the tender. In an exclusive interview with GMB, Roberto Quattrini, representative of the joint venture, talks about the imminent launch of the game with the Minas Gerais State Lottery (LEMG), the big prizes planned for players, points of sale and the ambitious goals of the Consortium for the first months of operation.

GMB - What are the expectations of Consórcio Mineira da Sorte when launching Raspadinha®, the first product after winning the tender in Minas Gerais?

- We are a group made up of international companies, such as IGT and Scientific Games, and the Brazilian SAGA BGI, with extensive experience in the Brazilian lottery market. We will officially operate the Minas Gerais State Lottery (LEMG) Raspadinha® game and our expectation is to reach the mark of more than 3 thousand points of sale in the first six months of operation.

We will start operations with four sensational games, creating a great moment for the Minas Gerais
market.

We use well-structured commercial processes, providing efficiency and proximity to our customers.
Furthermore, we invest significantly in marketing and rely on the knowledge of leading companies in the global market.

Did this instant lottery already exist in the Group’s portfolio or was it developed especially for the Minas Gerais market?
This instant lottery already existed in the Group's portfolio, which is a leader in the markets in which it
operates. To launch the products in Minas Gerais, we carried out several targeted researches with the aim of improving and adapting the games for our target audience.

What are the features and models available at the launch of the new instant lottery in Minas Gerais?
Initially, we will launch a portfolio with 4 Raspadinha® tickets, one version for R$2, two for R$5 and one for R$10.

We will have prizes of up to R$ 250,000 (US$ 51,000) and, if we add up all the prizes that will be in this
initial batch, we will distribute a total of R$ 132 million (US$ 27m).

Will the Raspadinha® only be available online or does the Consortium also intend to distribute it physically?
It will initially be available in physical format.

What is your assessment of the potential of the Minas Gerais market for Consórcio Mineira da Sorte, especially at this effervescent moment in Brazil regarding the regulation of sports betting?
We strongly believe in the potential for development of this market in Brazil. In some European countries and the United States, the instant format represents around 40% of the total lottery market.

Regulation plays a fundamental role in this process, both to organize and professionalize the activities of companies, bringing better products to consumers and also allocating relevant funds to social projects, determined by the Government.

Is it in the Consortium's plans to expand its presence in this segment, considering that in Minas Gerais there is already Lotominas, operated by one of the members of the Consórcio Mineira da Sorte?
Our focus is on correctly operating what determines the bidding: the Minas Gerais State Lottery (LEMG) Raspadinha®.
 


What will be the next launches of Consórcio Mineira da Sorte within the scope of the winning bid in Minas Gerais?
We are aligned with the Minas Gerais State Lottery (LEMG) to develop a plan to launch new Raspadinha® tickets, which will be available from 2024, and which are in line with the scope of the bid. We are in the phase of studying the adherence of new products to the market and will soon announce the news.

When will the new products be available?
The initial portfolio of four tickets can be found on the market from November this year.

Does the Consortium intend to expand to other Brazilian states? What are the short and medium term plans?
Our focus and priority, for the short and medium term, is to execute our plan well: to bring entertainment and high-level services to retailers in the instant lottery market (Raspadinha®), at the best sales points in Minas Gerais.
