The court has just ordered the unblocking of Blaze's website, after more than two months of being prevented from offering its sports betting and online gaming services.
Defended by Avelar Advogados and Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados, the company regained its right to explore its activities until other facts pointed out against Blaze are analyzed.
“To analyze such facts, the case must return to the Common Court, so that there can be a ministerial statement, without prejudice to, in the future, returning to this Court, if the archiving of serious crimes is maintained,” says judge José Fernando Steinberg, from the Central Criminal Forum Barra Funda, in his order.
In his decision, the judge states that:
“In relation to the request formulated on pages 206/21, I DEFEND the claim of unblocking, referring to the link ‘https://blaze.com/pt/’, through ad referendum by the Common Court, therefore, with regard to the crime of gambling, there is no justification for maintaining the measure, which appears disproportionate, especially for a long period, in relation to a misdemeanor, the sanction of which is punishable by simple imprisonment.”
With the decision, Blaze will be able to have its website live again until new investigations are completed in the Common Court.
