Better Collective makes transformational acquisition of Playmaker Capital

Playmaker, the digital sports media company that delivers authentic content experiences through its portfolio of sports media brands, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Better Collective, a leading digital sports media group that owns and operates a number of global and national sports brands, for total consideration of approximately EUR176 million.

Better Collective have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Playmaker Capital, a leading digital sports media group that owns and operates a number of strong sports media brands in the U.S., Canada and of course not least across South America.

With the acquisition, Better Collective will significantly scale the operations in South America adding significant fuel to its vision of becoming the leading digital sports media group.

Adding the strong titles within Playmaker Capital and #futbolsites including Bolavip, SomosFanaticos and RedGol to its existing sports media portfolio will boost the audience with +200 million visits/month from sports fans across the Americas, and increase reach on social media with +180 million followers.

Better Collective is now LatAm sport media leader and have reached 400M global monthly audience after today's acquisition of Playmaker Capital. This is transformational for Better Collective with significant revenue, cost and sports tech synergies.

The Transaction is to be effected by way of a court-approved plan of arrangement and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024, subject to receipt of Playmaker shareholder and court approvals, a required regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Completion of the Transaction is not subject to any financing condition.
