Lucila Cirio, Head of Payments

“Vpag is ready for regulation in Brazil and now wants to scale the business across LatAm”

Lucila Cirio, Payments Manager at Vpag, talked with GMB during SBC Latinoamérica about the importance of payment methods in the gaming sector and highlighted the successful launch of two products, Wallet and Flash, ready for future regulation in Brazil. Now, Vpag aims to expand into the Spanish speaking region and scale the business, listening to the demands of operators and partners, and continue developing the products and teams.

GMB – What assessment do you make of SBC Latinoamérica, especially considering that Vpag has just launched two important products for the iGaming sector?
Lucila Cirio –
The event seemed very good to us and we took the opportunity, as always, to strengthen business relationships with provider operators and partners, meeting in person with them. This is strategic for us. The event is very good for networking and for leveraging our business agenda that we are building.

You launched Wallet at ICE London and Flash at BiS SiGMA, and both products were very well received. Tell us about them.
There were intense plans and they are a success based on what we set out to do, by launching the products at ICE and BiS SiGMA. SBC successfully crowns these launches and we are very pleased with the achievements, after so much effort and work. The idea, especially with Wallet, is to offer it throughout the Latin American region. That's why reaching the SBC at this opportunity is essential to get the ball rolling for 2024.

Getting even closer to operators in this market?
Exactly. Including operators that are throughout the region and not just in one country. Brazil is very strong, but for operators operating in different jurisdictions it is important to have a consolidated product across the region and not just in Brazil. Much of our business is focused on the country, but we have already expanded our borders to other countries on the continent. Operators look for products that can respond to the demands of different countries.

You have a large presence in Brazil. How do you see the regulation of sports betting and online casino?
Since we conceived Vpag and the two recently launched products – Wallet and Flash – they have been fully prepared from the beginning for regulation, which is imminent.

What are Eightroom's plans with its Vpag product and Wallet and Flash tools?
This year the focus was on launching the products and arming the team, establishing the foundations for everything to be adequately supported. The products were launched for the Brazilian market, but for next year, the plans are to expand to other countries in the region. That's why we're at SBC, which has an excellent focus on Latin America.

As with everything we launch, we will continue focusing on processes and listening to the demands of operators and providers to continue growing and adapting the product to these standards. For us, it has always been important to listen to what is needed for the sector and our customers. The idea is to continue in this way, developing products and expanding in the region and preparing teams and processes so that both become increasingly better.

New products for next year or just Wallet and Flash updates?
We already have a lot of work at Vpag for the two products launched this year, but we have new features being developed, which will promote greater market penetration in order to also generate more interest on the part of operators, which we will announce in the next events we are planning to participate in.
