GMB – What are the OKTO solutions that you are developing to present to Brazil next year?
Leonardo Chaves – OKTO works with a few pillars, the first of which is compliance. We always strive to provide excellent treatment and help our customers to have a simple, but reliable process with accurate information so that they can make decisions in the process with their users.
The second pillar is that our products generate value for the user. We have the perspective of not only looking at our client, but also at their clients. Think about usability for the player, the user of the platform. We want to make usability easier for them, facilitating the payment process, reducing steps and friction in payment. Our strongest product is Pix Direct, which we affectionately call ‘super pix’. The customer does not need to go through the copy and paste process, open the bank app, etc. We have reduced confirmation of your payments to three steps.
You talk about pillars. There is also Pay & Play. Tell us a little about this tool.
It's a very interesting product. With Pay & Play, instead of the user going through the entire onboarding and registration process, through payment we collect the main information and enrich it based on government databases and compliance systems, for our client, avoiding step by step for the end user.
We know that in Brazil pix is the main and most accepted form of payment, but there are still people who prefer to use cash as a payment method. They were outside the gaming world and today we have a solution in which it goes to a physical point and automatically enters the system without having to wait for consolidation deadlines. With OKTO.CASH he credits the money and can start playing immediately. This usability is what has enabled OKTO to generate value for our customers.
Regarding the regulatory framework, expected to be completed by the end of the year, how important is it for the end user?
We, as the payments industry, are prepared and looking very closely at this entire process. It is very important for creating clear rules for all market players. And it is a way, through defined rules, for the government to establish what the government can demand from each company. And the biggest beneficiary will be the player. We, in the industry, whether payments or operators, will have limits and will work on a more educational process in this sector. The regulated market brings peace of mind to everyone on how to act and avoid abuse, including communication.
Many people speak on the internet in a perhaps not very responsible way, to attract users or followers. We need to be careful, as gambling is not a way to make money, but a form of entertainment and fun.
