BSOP is two-time winner of the Prêmio Caio, considered the “Oscar of Events”

The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) received this Tuesday (12) the second consecutive Prêmio Caio (Award) in the sporting event category, in an awards ceremony held at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo-SP. In the decision, Brasil Game Show won the ‘Jacaré de Bronze’, Fairmont Golf Weekend got the ‘Jacaré de Prata’ and Stack Eventos, with the 'BSOP Millions 2022' case, received the ‘Jacaré de Ouro’.

Nine cases were entered in the Sports Events category of what is considered the “Oscar of Events”, with four of them being selected for the final phase after reaching the minimum score required (eight).

“We are very proud, together with our partner PokerStars, to have brought poker back into the spotlight,” said Devanir Campos, CEO of the Brazilian Series of Poker. “The Prêmio Caio is recognized as a seal of excellence in the hotel and events sector. So this achievement is very important.”

“The second ‘Jacaré de Ouro’ represents the work of more than 450 people. After all, this giant team makes the BSOP Millions an incredible event year after year,” commented Lara Bruno Machado de Campos, COO of the Brazilian Series of Poker. “We are happy to close another season of events with a flourish.”

Created in 2006, the BSOP, which is the Brazilian Poker Championship, was largely responsible for promoting this sport of the mind in the country.

In the 2022 BSOP Millions, a winning case in the 24th Edition of the Prêmio Caio, R$ 46,380,000 (US$ 9.4m) in prizes were distributed over the 13 days of the event - a mark that was surpassed in the BSOP Millions 2023, which distributed more than R$ 72 million (US$ 14.5m).

Recognized as the most relevant award in the sector, the Prêmio Caio has existed since 1999 and aims to identify and recognize the work of companies and professionals in the Brazilian Events and Tourism Industry, encouraging appreciation in their segment and in the media.
