“Corinthians has in its hands a proposal of R$100 million from Pixbet for the bookmaker to be the new master sponsor, which would also include ownership of the shoulder blade space. Pixbet currently pays R$47 million (US$ 9.5m) for the shoulder and back,” explains Nicola.
“The interest arose after Superbet offered R$80 million for the master sponsorship of Corinthians. Timão would be forced to remove Pixbet, which was informed and in addition to covering it, would add another R$20 million (US$ 4.05m). The new board assures that it has a proposal of R$100 million. Neo Química could be relocated to another space on the shirt,” adds the journalist.
If the new values are confirmed, Corinthians will become the owner of the most valuable shirt in Brazilian football. Currently, the Corinthians shirt is worth R$123 million (US$ 25m), behind Flamengo, with R$150 million (US$ 30.35m).
Last week, president-elect of Corinthians, Augusto Melo, said that he was talking to three companies and that “almost everything is ready” for Alvinegro to earn “more than R$200 million (US$ 40.5m)” in shirt sponsorships.
“We are aggressively marketing the market. We should launch a major sponsorship soon, almost everything is already in place. Our shirt will explode and cost more than R$200 million,” revealed the elected president of Corinthians. “We will show credibility. There are already three more large companies that want to invest, we will be sitting down now and reviewing contracts.”
Three Corinthians shirt sponsorship contracts come to an end in December 2023: Pixbet (back), Ale (chest) and Spani Atacadista (back bar).
The master sponsorship, agreed with Neo Química, is valid until December 2025, as well as a second link with Pixbet (shoulders).
