Pride and joy of fans for winning the Libertadores

In partnership with Betano, Fluminense presents a giant shirt on Copacabana sand

Every Fluminense fan will forever remember the long-awaited victory of the Conmebol Libertadores, in a memorable final played at Maracanã. The size of the Tricolores' joy is now represented by a work of art: a giant “Tricolor Armor” appeared on Copacabana beach, in a partnership between Betano and Umbro, the club's master sponsor and official supplier, respectively, and signed by the agency Alob Sports.

Created to further engage the fans and get into the spirit of the FIFA Club World Cup, the sculpture was inaugurated this Monday (18), in an area of 900 m², 30 meters long and positioned near the Post N° 2 of Copacabana beach.

Thousands of fans and tourists are expected at the venue until Friday (22), the last day of the free exhibition. Artist Rogean Rodrigues, who has been creating sculptures in the sands of Copacabana for over 30 years, is responsible for creating the new tricolor monument.

With all parties involved in the action committed to preserving the environment, the work was produced with natural sand and water-based paint, composed of biodegradable properties that do not harm nature.

The year 2023 was very special for Fluminense, and Betano is proud to participate in this history with so many relevant milestones. Thus, for the sports betting house, the action is another opportunity to strengthen the long-standing partnership with the club and begin the construction of other projects in conjunction with other major brands, such as Umbro, a global reference in sports materials.

“Umbro Brasil has been with Fluminense for years, and for a long time we dreamed of this moment together. And we never stop believing for a single moment. Copacabana beach, Brazil and the American continent are painted green, white and maroon, and we hope that, very soon, the world will also have the three colors,” points out the national brand director of Umbro Brasil, Eduardo Dal Pogetto.

“We are also very proud to have developed a shirt that will forever remain in the club's history and in the heart of every tricolor. Having this sacred mantle on the sands of one of the most beautiful places in the world is a recognition that makes us very happy, in addition to being an eternalization of the partnership with Flu,” adds Dal Pogetto.

Fluminense is the South American representative at this year's FIFA Club World Cup, and will take to the field this Monday (18), starting at 3pm (Brasília time), in the semi-final of the competition. The opponent will be the Egyptian team Al Ahly, in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The big decision of the tournament takes place on Friday, also at 3pm, in the same location.

“This action perfectly represents what our year was: huge. Getting an idea off the ground and having the support of Betano, Umbro and Fluminense shows that thinking differently about sport gives results. We are talking about an exhibition in one of the most famous tourist spots in the world, Copacabana beach. We are convinced that this image will resonate globally,” says the CEO and founder of the agency, Bernardo Pontes.
