Founded on September 22, 1988, the school stands out for another achievement in 1992 when it also won the Rio de Janeiro Carnival. For the 2024 edition, community rehearsals take place at the school's headquarters in the center of Duque de Caxias, in the Baixada Fluminense. Street rehearsals are held on Brigadeiro Lima e Silva Avenue. Esportes da Sorte ambassador Deolane Bezerra is one of the highlights of the school and will be present at rehearsals and the school's parade.
The samba-enredo for the 2024 Carnival of the school will have the theme "Nosso Destino É Ser Onça" (Our Destiny Is to Be a Jaguar), composed by Derê, Marcelinho Júnior, Robson Moratelli, Rafael Ribeiro, Tony Vietnã, and Eduardo Queiroz. The work proposes a reflection on the symbolism of the jaguar in the Brazilian artistic-cultural scenario, addressing themes such as anthropophagy and enchantment.
In addition to Grande Rio, Esportes da Sorte also sponsors the Galo da Madrugada Carnival block, which attracts crowds through the streets of Recife (PE). During the last year's Carnival, the company sponsored more than 80 events across the country, including VIP areas, corporate spaces, and blocks. Throughout 2023, the company also stood out for its growing presence in the entertainment sector, sponsoring concerts, festivals, and reality shows.
