Positioning Note

On the night of December 21, 2023, the Chamber of Deputies voted on Bill 3626/23, which definitively marks the birth of a new sector in the Brazilian economy. By approving the bill, the legislature sends to presidential sanction a base text that follows the main global precepts for structuring the iGaming sector from a business environment that is safe for consumers, beneficial to sports, revenue-generating for the government, and competitive for companies in the segment.

The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) recognizes and applauds the efforts of the Federal Government, deputies, and senators to ensure that the regulation of the sector took place expeditiously.

In the coming years, investment in the sector is expected to exceed tens of billions of reais in the country, creating a new productive chain, in harmony with the technological advances that the digital world demands. There will be new jobs that will require new skills due to the dynamism of the sector.

The entity reaffirms its position and makes itself available to combat, together with the Federal Government, practices harmful to society and collaborate in the creation of stringent policies so that the formal iGaming environment becomes a reference for the international market.

IBJR also thanks its members: bet365, Betsson Group, Betway Group, Eintain (Sportingbet), Flutter (Betfair), KTO Group, LeoVegas Group, NetBet, Novibet, Rei do Pitaco, Yolo Group, and associated companies Better Collective, OKTO Payments, OneKey Payments, Pay4Fun Payment Institution S.A, and Clever Advertising, for their unrestricted support and the construction of a synergistic environment to forge a new segment within the Brazilian economy.
