“Apostou has plans to expand to other states with the success in Rio de Janeiro and Paraná”

The positive results of offering sports betting and iLottery in Rio de Janeiro and the beginning of operations in Paraná are the starting point for Apostou to reach other Brazilian states. In an exclusive interview with GMB, founding partner Italo Tavares de Moura highlights the concern with compliance and responsible gaming. He guarantees that “the experiences acquired will provide valuable knowledge for the success of future operations in new markets.”

GMB - Apostou has just started sports betting operations in Paraná. What does this mean for the company, which also operates in Rio de Janeiro?
Italo Tavares de Moura -
This is a crucial step in Apostou's strategic expansion into the regulated market, demonstrating our continued commitment to offering a safe and high-quality betting experience. Building a presence in the State of Paraná, in addition to our successful operations in Rio de Janeiro, consolidates our position as a leading brand in the national sports betting scene. We are excited to share our innovation with the people of Paraná.

What was the integration process like between the platform used by Apostou and Lottopar's integrated system?
It was a success. Collaboration and continuous effort between the teams was key to overcoming obstacles, resulting in a successful and efficient integration, allowing users to enjoy a betting experience with the highest quality standards.

Lottopar has determined a series of rules regarding responsible gaming and compliance. Was it easy to adapt to the organization’s requirements?
Since the beginning of its operations, Apostou has been committed to responsible gaming, compliance and anti-money laundering. Adapting to Lottopar's requirements is our priority, and reinforces our commitment to providing a safe and responsible experience, in line with the compliance standards established by Lottopar.

How does Apostou see the beginning of this operation in Paraná?
As the first authorized to operate in the State of Paraná, we are aware of the responsibility we carry. We strive to build a platform that not only offers exciting betting opportunities, but also puts integrity and transparency at the forefront. We know the importance of establishing trust, and it is with this commitment that we began our operation in Paraná.

What are Apostou’s marketing plans to reinforce its brand positioning in Paraná? Will Netinho de Paula also be the ambassador for the Paraná operation?
We have comprehensive marketing plans to consolidate and strengthen the positioning of our brand in Paraná, including inserting advertising pieces on TV shows, radio stations and billboards throughout the State. As for Netinho de Paula's presence, we will continue to evaluate the best approaches to ambassadors, always looking for personalities that align with Apostou's values, adapted to the local culture and that contribute to the brand's success in the region.

Apostou is also already operating in Rio de Janeiro. How has this operation been?
Apostou's operation in Rio de Janeiro has been very positive, consolidating our presence in the national regulated market and receiving a favorable response from players. In addition to fixed-odd sports betting, the introduction of iLottery has further expanded our entertainment offering in operations in Rio de Janeiro. In this promising scenario, there is a notable receptivity to the innovations we offer, and this is reflected in the growth of our user base.

After this initial phase of operation in Paraná, does the company intend to apply for licenses in other Brazilian states based on the experiences in Paraná and Rio de Janeiro?
Apostou has strategic expansion plans in other Brazilian states, consolidating itself as a national reference in the sports betting and iLottery scenario. The experiences acquired during accreditations in Paraná and Rio de Janeiro will provide valuable knowledge and learning that will contribute to the success of future operations in new markets.

And regarding federal regulation, does Apostou intend to seek a grant from the Ministry of Finance or will it continue to seek only local licenses?
The current federal landscape is marked by uncertainty, and we are closely monitoring changes and developments in federal regulation to determine the most appropriate approach.

What are Apostou’s plans for 2024?
For 2024, the company is focused on significant growth and expansion of operations in Paraná and Rio de Janeiro. We seek to consolidate ourselves as a reference in the national sports betting and iLottery market, strengthening the brand, cultivating partnerships and investing in innovation and security. Apostou is committed to contributing positively to society by promoting responsible gaming initiatives. These pillars reflect our comprehensive vision for 2024, highlighting our commitment to sustainable growth, constant innovation and social responsibility.
