Federal Deputy Vermelho (PL), re-elected by Foz do Iguaçu and region, predicts an explosion of development for the city with the continuity of macro projects and structuring works.
Vermelho defended the union of efforts for the continuity of the macro projects of the city and region, and expects positive reflexes also for the other neighboring municipalities of the entire Triple Border (Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay).
During the meeting, the deputy also updated information about the project for casinos in Brazil.
The parliamentarian is the author of an amendment that foresees tourist casinos for smaller cities as is the case of Foz do Iguaçu. The project was approved in the Chamber of Deputies and is in the Senate.
“Here, by implementing a casino integrated into the resort with 2 to 3 thousand rooms, there would be competition with the current hotel chain, which will be harmed. Therefore, I defend a tourist casino with a gaming room, amphitheater, bars and restaurants, taking advantage of the current hotel structure,” pointed out Vermelho.
One of the debates to be held during the course of the project regarding casinos will be the sharing of tax collection.
The expectation is for revenues of more than R$ 74 billion (US$ 14b) per year. The taxes generated would reach R$ 20 billion (US$ 3.8b). With that, City Hall will have a new source of revenue because, in addition to charging the ISSQN, it will have a larger share in the FPM.
