Paraná state in Brazil suspends bidding for sports betting concession

The bid by the government of Paraná for the implementation of sports betting in the State through Lotepar is suspended. The Executive branch identified the need to make some adjustments to the term of reference to adapt it to good market practices. In the next few days Lotepar will inform a new date for the concession process.

The government of the Brazilian State of Paraná decided to suspend the bidding for the concession of sports betting to the private sector in order to correct and adapt the Public Notice to good market practices.

The information on the suspension of the event was published this Monday, February 13, by Decon – Department of Logistics for Public Procurement.
 


The total estimated value of the contract is R$ 232 million (US$ 45m) and the concession, through the accreditation of multiple concessionaires in free competition, will be for a period of 10 years, renewable for an equal period. Each company contemplated with the concession must have at least three physical stores destined to capture sports betting.
