“Pragmatic Play is the market leader in Brazil and LatAm with unstoppable growth”

Pragmatic Play, one of the most successful game developers in Latin America, attended ICE London to present to the global market its new titles and the new brand expression “your favorite at all times.” To talk about it, the company's growth, new plans and regulation of the betting sector in Brazil, GMB spoke with Victor Arias, VP of LatAm operations, and Marco Pequeno, director Brazil.

GMB – Victor, what do you think of this year’s ICE London edition?
Victor Arias
– It is definitely what we expected. A huge public presence at the most important fair in the world. We started the year on the right foot from the point of view of contacts and business.

Marco, how do you see, as a Brazilian, a fair of this magnitude?
Marco Pequeno –
This fair for Brazil has grown every year. In 2022 we saw many Brazilians and in this edition we heard Portuguese in all the corridors. We know that the market is growing a lot and Brazilians have already realized the importance of the fair and are coming in droves and there is a lot of business to be done.

Victor Arias – Among the novelties, in addition to many new titles, our highlight is the launch of our new brand expression, which has the concept that the user comes back and plays our games again. The expression adopted is “You favorite at all times”.

 



In other words, "your favorite at all times"...
Marco Pequeno – 
That's how we plan to bring the player back. We understand that the player looks for our games. They are increasingly available in the Latin American market and especially in Brazil. Operators are increasingly looking for them, as are gamers and streamers. It is a symbiotic relationship, as we feed on them and they feed on us.

The market growth is not only in Brazil, but throughout Latin America?
Victor Arias
- I loved the concept that Marco used to talk about, the symbiotic relationship between the user and our product. In fact, we are growing every day in the region. This growth is daily and new resources and adaptations are required on our part. That's why we have an important team in the region to meet the great demand for our games. We are still celebrating the growth we had in 2022 and we have high expectations for 2023. And this exhibition is proof of that. We are very proud and happy with the project we are developing.

Is this same growth happening in Brazil?
Marco Pequeno -
Exponentially. We are market leaders in Brazil and that does not mean that we have stopped growing. We are constantly growing and we have a culture on the team that is “it always gets harder, but it always gets better”. So we are always looking for growth. When we reach a level, we want to surpass it. ICE helps us to do this and here we can maintain and strengthen our relationships, as well as develop new agreements and relationships to maintain this year the same pace we have had. It was like this last year and it will be the same way in 2023.

 



The only thing missing is regulation, isn't it Victor? Do you wait for it to happen?
Victor Arias -
Fully and expectantly. Regulation will bring exceptional development and growth to the market.
