Attended by Tourism Minister and entities, Fornatur debates release of gaming and casinos in Brazil

The National Forum of State Secretaries and Directors of Tourism (Fornatur) will promote, next Monday (6) in Brasília, a meeting with the presence of the Ministry of Tourism, Braztoa, Abav, FBHA, Abrasel Nacional and other entities. Among the agendas, a session on the approval of Bill 442/91 on Gaming and Casinos will be included, which will boost tourism and the macro economy in Brazil.

The event will take place from 2:30 pm to 6:40 pm, at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center – South Wing 1st Floor Mezzanine, in Brasília, and also in online format.

The meeting will be attended by the Ministry of Tourism, Braztoa, Abav, FBHA, Abrasel Nacional, among other entities from the public and private sectors.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss relevant guidelines of the tourism industry for the development of the sector in Brazil.

Among the subjects to be addressed are the agenda of the airline industry, investment attraction, release of gaming and casinos, fishing tourism, as well as marketing and promotion of destinations, as well as the issue of Tax Free.

It is worth noting that Fornatur had already disclosed its intention to talk to Daniela Carneiro, Minister of Tourism in Brasilia, as advanced by M&E.

Among the multiple themes to be played, the meeting's agenda foresees a special session:

4:20 pm to 4-35 pm: "Approval of Bill 442/91 of Gaming and Casinos that will boost Brazil's tourism and macro economy" - by Fabrício Amaral.

Amaral is the president of Goiás Turismo, and also assumed the presidency of the National Forum of Secretaries and State Directors of Tourism for the biennium 2021/2023.

Fornatur is responsible for deliberating on the important themes of Brazilian Tourism, incorporating state, regional and national demands.

The collegiate acts as an advisory body to the Ministry of Tourism, in the preparation and implementation of the National Tourism Plan and in the discussion of the main programs and projects in the sector.

Initially, there was a forecast that Bill 442/91, which was approved by the Chamber of Deputies in February 2022, would be voted on in the middle of last year, but its appreciation was being postponed until 2023. Thus, it is currently expected that, due to the great potential that the gambling market has in Brazil, the text will finally be taken seriously and consequently the senators will turn their attention to it.
