Six games from Loterias Caixa increased by up to 25%

Caixa Econômica Federal sent a statement to the Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot), where it was informed that the changes are due to readjustment to inflation.

"Caixa carried out the necessary studies and, based on the viability identified as a way to recover the monetary value of the bets, based on updating their original values using the IPCA, we communicate that the Lotofácil, Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania and Dia de Sorte modalities will now have new prices," says the text.

Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotofácil and Lotomania will increase from April 30th, while Timemania and Dia de Sorte will increase on May 3rd.

The statement also informs that "the changes will come into force from contests Lottofácil 2801, Mega-Sena 2588, Quina 6138, Lotomania 2588, Timemania 4932 and Dia de Sorte 753. To this end, ‘Teimosinha’ type bets are being gradually inhibited by modality until the effective price increase.”

The Mega-Sena, for example, had a percentage increase of 11% in its price. In the case of Lotofácil, the readjustment was 20%. The last readjustment suffered in the values was in 2019.

New values of Caixa games

• Mega-Sena: from R$ 4,50 (US$ 0,90) to R$ 5 (US$ 1) from April 30/04 in contest 2588
• Lotofácil: from R$ 2,50 (US$ 0,50) to R$ 3 (US$ 0,60) from April 30 in contest 2801
• Quina: from R$ 2 (US$ 0,40) to R$2,50 (US$ 0,50) from April 30 in contest 6139
• Lotomania: from R$ 2,50 (US$ 0,50) to R$ 3 (US$ 0,60) from April 30 in contest 2462
• Timemania: from R$ 3 (US$ 0,60) to R$ 3,50 (US$ 0,70) from May 3 in contest 1952
• Dia de Sorte: from R$ 2 (US$ 0,40) to R$ 2,50 (US$ 0,50) from May 3 in contest 753

In response to the request of this Federation to readjust the prices of Federal Lottery bets, CAIXA carried out the necessary studies and, based on the feasibility identified as a way of recovering the monetary value of the bets, based on updating their original values using the IPCA, we communicate that the Lotofácil, Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania and Dia de Sorte modalities will now have new prices. The other modalities remain with the current price.

The alterations will come into effect as of draws 2801 for Lotofácil, 2588 for Mega-Sena, 6138 for Quina, 2588 for Lotomania, 4932 for Timemania and 753 for Dia de Sorte. To this end, ‘Teimosinha’ bets are being gradually inhibited by modality until the effective price increase.

CAIXA will make a wide publicity and soon the lotteries will receive details of prices, new values of fixed prizes and parameters of the Bolão (Pool), as well as material for communication to players.
