Santos negotiates master sponsorship with Blaze, Neymar's partner

Santos negotiates a new master sponsorship for its jersey worth approximately R$ 45 million (US$ 8.9m) for a two-year contract. It is Blaze, an online bookmaker that would replace Pixbet in space. The amount represents twice the amount collected with the company of the same branch in the main space of the shirt, informed news outlet UOL Esporte. Neymar is a Blaze ambassador.

Santos has been negotiating for some time and is seeking a friendly agreement with Pixbet, the current sponsor, in order to be able to change the brand before the end of the current contract. The club had the help of Neymar father in the negotiations. Neymar himself is a Blaze ambassador.

The desire would be to announce the master sponsorship as one of the novelties now in April, the club's anniversary month. The ‘Peixe’ completes 111 years next Friday (14).

A year ago, Pixbet became Santos' master sponsor, in a contract valid for two years. During this period, the bookmaker carried out some actions to engage fans and actively participated in various promotions with the aim of linking its brand to the club.

At the time, the arrival of Pixbet was celebrated as a great achievement for ‘Peixe’, but the movements in the Brazilian football market and the inflation of sponsorship values are speaking louder at this moment, as clubs are looking for more financial resources and a proposal like the one underway, with Blaze, could double the value of the Vila Belmiro team's master space.

And Neymar's strength as an ambassador for Blaze and offspring of Santos seems to be facilitating negotiations around a new contract, which currently depends on an agreement with Pixbet for the arrival of the new bookmaker.

In a recent marketing action, Blaze put Neymar in a situation that caused great impact, when the Brazilian player cried after “losing” R$ 5.6 million in a roulette wheel on the betting site. It was actually a marketing ploy undertaken by Blaze that lasted for over a week on news and social media sites.

Blaze was created in 2019 from a group of entrepreneurs who not only had a knack for promoting entertainment, but also an affinity for the iGaming industry.

“The company produces digitally native games that gamers love. Blaze as a product is defining a new category in the gaming space, taking elements from casual and social games and transforming it into a betting product,” defines the bookmaker.

The content and platform aim to create a truly differentiated player experience. After three years on the market, Blaze now has over 2,000 games and 12 million registered players.
