Starting today (Tuesday 25th), the city of São Paulo will host the Sports Summit, one of the main events in the sports industry in Latin America. The event will have more than 150 speakers until next Thursday (27), at Pavilhão Pacaembu.
Considered one of the main events of the sports industry in Latin America, the Sports Summit will have, this year, its first edition held in Brazil, promising to bring to the country some of the main names in the area. The meeting, which in its previous editions brought together more than five thousand people, takes place from April 25th to 27th.
Among the confirmed participants are the former striker Ronaldo Nazário; the president of Sapin’s La Liga, Javier Tebas; the assistant general secretary of CONMEBOL, Monserrat Jimenez; the CEO of the Italian league, Luigi de Siervo, as well as leaders of clubs and national associations.
On the third day (27) at 10:40 am (BRT), the Sports Summit São Paulo will feature a special panel “Facing the rise of match-fixing in sport”, with the presence of Sérgio Barbosa Domenici, CEO of the National Basketball League , and Guilherme Buso, Senior Business Development Manager – LATAM, Genius Sports. Moderation is in charge of Erich Beting, CEO & Founder of Máquina do Esporte.
The Sports Summit 2023 already has guaranteed presence of directors and executives from major clubs in Brazil and the world (such as Julio Casares, from São Paulo; and Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, from Atlético de Madrid), in addition to representatives of leagues and entities such as Fifa, Serie A, Italy, NBA, COB, LaLiga, Conmebol, WSL and UFC.
Among the lectures announced for this year are those by Johanna Wood, FIFA adviser; Rodrigo Vicentini, CEO of the NBA in Brazil; former player Mauro Silva, vice-president of the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF); Eduardo Galetti, Senior Vice President of UFC Latin America; Ivan Martinho, CEO of WSL in Latin America; Gustavo Herbetta, director of marketing for the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB); Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Serie A; and Pedro Proença, president of the Portuguese League.
Several experiences are also planned for visitors, including immersion areas, among other attractions. On the second day, for example, there will be a tribute to Pelé, the ‘King of Football’, who died in December last year.
