Loteria Mineira to announce today the winning company of the bid to operate in MG

LEMG defines this afternoon (3) the name of the company that will win the right to operate traditional lotteries (instant and conventional) on an exclusive basis in Minas Gerais. Hebara and the IGT/Scientific Games/SAGA BGI consortium are those qualified to participate in this stage. The price envelope opening session takes place today at 2:30 pm.

Today, April 3, the new operator of traditional lotteries (instant and conventional) will be announced on an exclusive basis in Minas Gerais, including strategic planning services, product creation, printing solutions, storage, implementation and operation of products lotteries, marketing, creation and operation of a distribution network, commercialization and payment of prizes.

Loteria Mineira published the decision in the Official Gazette of this Saturday, April 1st, enabling Hebara, a traditional Brazilian company with experience in the lottery area having operated for years in the Rio de Janeiro market, and the Consórcio Mineira da Sorte, formed by multinationals IGT and Scientific Games and by the Brazilian SAGA BGI, an investor with extensive experience in the national lottery market.

The opening of the envelopes of both companies takes place today (3), at 2:30 pm, and it will be defined who will operate the traditional lottery games (instant and conventional) on an exclusive basis in Minas Gerais.

The winner of the bidding will be the one that offers the highest transfer to the Lottery of the State of Minas Gerais.

The contract provides for a collection of R$ 5 billion (US$ 960m), with a minimum transfer of R$ 500 million (US$ 96) to the State, over the 20-year term.

Once all the legal stages of the process have been completed, the winning company will be able to implement a schedule of phases until starting the commercial exploitation of the games, which include the instant lottery (scratch card) and the conventional lottery (which uses the drawing of balls).
