As a way of getting even closer to its target audience and society as a whole, last month the Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro - Loterj launched a campaign on social networks addressing the main issues that concern the company in the operation of lottery modalities in Rio de Janeiro.
This week, the subject is “Regulation”, in which Loterj describes that “it is the set of rules created for the legal functioning of a certain sector”. It explains that this is done through laws and decrees that establish all the details on taxation, grants and administrative, technical and legal requirements for the proper functioning of an operation.
Specifically about lotteries, Loterj indicates in its campaign that they are regulated “in their respective states, issuing licenses, establishing rules for private operators to operate in the territory, promoting tenders and supervising compliance with market operating rules.”
Loterj also explains that it has been responsible, within the scope of Rio de Janeiro, for the regulation of lotteries since 1944, when President Getúlio Vargas signed Decree 6,259 “establishing that the operation and regulation of lottery activity falls within the competence of the Union and State Governments”.
And it ends by stating that “Loterj’s role as a regulator in the State of Rio guarantees security for players and lottery market operators” and that it is also responsible for promoting responsible gaming, preventing and combating fraud, in addition to the company’s social commitment in meeting the actions of the State government in this area.
