The entity shall seek contract termination

After galera.bet preliminary injunction, CBF covered logos of betting firms in Brasileirão matches

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) covered the logos of the betting companies that compete with galera.bet in this Wednesday's (11) games, for the 5th round of the Brasileirão. The initiative was a court decision since the company obtained an injunction in the 30th Civil Court of Rio de Janeiro, alleging breach of contract in some properties of the tournament, which include the entrance porch and backdrop of the interviews before and after the games.

In this Wednesday's round (10), the "holes" in the backdrops used for interviews with athletes after the games were clear. At the entrance portico, the solution was more improvised, with the logos of competing companies covered with black tape, as occurred in the match between Flamengo and Goiás, at Maracanã.

If not, the CBF would have to pay a fine of R$ 200,000 (US$ 40,400) per match. galera.bet claims that it has an agreement signed in 2021, valid until 2024, which guarantees exclusivity in these properties in all Brazilian Championship games.

However, from the 3rd round of the tournament, competing brands, such as Betano, Betnacional and 1xBet, appeared in the same properties.

Behind the scenes, the CBF moves to appeal and try to overturn the injunction. It is not yet known about the continuity of the sponsorship.

As news outlet Máquina do Esporte found out, the confederation is dissatisfied with the association of its brand to galera.bet and will seek the termination of the contract in court, even though it will have to pay a fine in this operation.
