In order to ensure commitment as an entity that trains citizens through sport, the LNB (National Basketball League) brought together, through a virtual meeting, more than 180 people around an important exchange of experiences on awareness in sports betting and risks linked to doping.
With a subject extremely popular throughout sports society, the lecture given by Genius Sports addressed in a highly pedagogical way how the betting integrity maintenance service works, in addition to guidance steps so that athletes and clubs know how to promptly identify signs of danger involving sports betting and the irreversible consequences of a possible illegal practice.
With the participation of important names in national basketball, Fúlvio Chiantia, general manager of the Brasilia team and former basketball player, highlighted his satisfaction with the promoted action.
“The initiative was of great importance and we attended a very enlightening and important lecture. We were able to answer questions and deepen our knowledge in anti-doping control and sports betting,” he states.
Conducted by Adriana Taboza, president of ABCD, and Anthony Moreira, general coordinator of ABCD Operations, the coaches and members of each team were guided on doping control, in addition to being able to clarify doubts and procedures on the subject, all in search of spread the anti-doping culture.
For the technical director of LNB, Paulo Bassul, working together with ABCD is essential for maintaining an increasingly honest modality.
“We had two indisputably relevant topics that can definitely impact the career of any athlete and, often, even due to misinformation, which is precisely what we want to combat by promoting this event. It was all very didactic and I believe it was useful for us to demonstrate how to avoid the consequences of these practices and not fall into traps. Those who had the opportunity to participate in the two lectures certainly left more informed and much better prepared.”
