Football clubs City and Chelsea, as well as UEFA and other sporting bodies, visited Genius Sports' London office to discuss integrity, monitoring and technologies involved in combating match-fixing.
“When we talk about cooperation, monitoring, technology and education as pillars in the fight against match-fixing, this is how we imagine clubs, federations, bookmakers, government and the competent bodies acting together,” highlights Gulherme Buso, LatAm business development manager from Genius Sports.
He mentions this union visualizing what is currently happening in the Brazilian sports betting market, full of accusations of manipulation of results in the Brasileirão. The company has collaborated with discussions in pursuit of integrity both with government agencies and with sports betting operators, in order to contribute to the improvement of actions in the fight against illegal practices.
“For this reason, ABRADIE (Brazilian Association for the Defense of the Integrity of Sport) plays a fundamental role in protecting sport against match-fixing, as it unites the main stakeholders of national sport to work together, sharing information, technology, good practices working for market education,” he says.
