*The clubs got the PM to leave data licensing out of the conditions so that they are entitled to a slice of the taxes that will be paid by the bookmakers.
*The text of Law 13,756/2018 will continue to apply, which states that the fee is due to clubs that grant the "use of their denominations, their brands, their emblems, their anthems, their symbols and the like for the dissemination and execution" of sports betting.
*The clubs understand that this leaves out, among other properties, statistical data, which could be negotiated directly with the bookmakers.
*Bets, on the other hand, have the interpretation that they would indeed have the right to use this strategic information. The government is not going to get involved in the discussion of interpretations, hoping that clubs and betting operators, private entities, understand each other.
*The commission that also represented Bahia, Vitória and Athletico, was unable to convince the government to increase the slice of the cake destined for the clubs: 1.63% of the net revenue from bets (the difference between what is raised in bets and what is paid to punters).
*Agreeing that taxes cannot exceed 15%, under the risk of undermining the bookmakers, strategic partners of Brazilian football, the clubs wanted the increase in their share to come out of the 10% that is up to the government. Finance explained that this was a sine qua non condition for the regulation to come out.
*The government also refused to extend the period of 180 days, from the publication of the PM, for betting operators to be regularized in the country, what should make illegal, in November, part of the companies that advertise in Brazilian football.
*Whoever does not get the grant, which will cost R$ 30 million (US$ 6m) for five years, will not be able to advertise in Brazil.
