The odd is 101

Bet365 opens a market for betting on Messi's next club, includes Palmeiras as an option

Bet365, one of the largest bookmakers in the world, has provided a market for betting on the next club in Lionel Messi's career. Among the options, the British website placed Palmeiras. The odd is 101, that is, for each Real (local currency) bet, 101 will be returned in case of a positive outcome.

The deadline for a possible transfer or stay of the striker at PSG is September 3.

After being suspended by PSG, Messi, who will be out of the French team's games for two weeks, is close to being free on the market. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the striker's father communicated the decision not to renew the current contract and the Parisian board is fully aware of the scenario. Therefore, the attacker's destiny promises to be one of the great attractions of the next transfer window.

Barcelona appears as a favorite for a possible return of the Argentine to Spanish football. Next, the most viable options are Al-Hilal, from Saudi Arabia, and staying at PSG itself. Palmeiras is the only Brazilian club listed as an option.

At bet365 users can choose, among 12 clubs, which will be the destination of the Argentine on September 3rd. In addition to teams from Europe, Inter Miami and Al-Hilal, Palmeiras is on the list. Although the possibility is highly unlikely, the current Brazilian champion is on the same level as Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Messi and Palmeiras have been linked in the news in recent days due to the interview with Maxi Biancucchi, a former athlete and cousin of the star. He said that Messi, in childhood, bought a Palmeiras shirt during a trip to Brazil. Coincidentally, Biancucchi and his brother, Emanuel, played for the clubs they chose, Flamengo and Vasco, respectively.

Maxi revealed that Messi bought a ‘Verdão’ shirt in Florianópolis when he was still a child, opting for an ‘Alviverde’ mantle from among the existing options in a sporting goods store.

"How is he not going to get to know Brazilian football? Once, we went on vacation to Brazil, I think I was 13, he was 8 or 9. We went to Florianopolis. And we bought football shirts. Imagine the ones we bought: I got the Flamengo one, my brother got the Vasco one and Messi got the Palmeiras one. I don't know if there's a photo, but it's a curious situation, because I played for Flamengo a while later, my brother passed by Vasco... imagine if Messi plays in Palmeiras," said Biancucchi, in an interview with ESPN last week.
