The two Better Collective contractors will collaborate with the group during the World Cup to create exclusive tournament-focused content both online and on social media, as well as providing exclusive interviews with analysis, tips and predictions during the competition.
After opening its Rio de Janeiro office as part of a planned expansion into the Latin American sports and sports betting market, Better Collective will also offer Brazilian sports fans a special gift ahead of the World Cup this Thursday (15) when Gabi Nunes will be present at the Brazilian iGaming Summit at the Transamérica Expo Center, in Sao Paulo.
The 26-year-old Brazilian was successful both in Europe, with Madrid CCF, and in South America, with Corinthians, in addition to having recently been called up for the Brazilian national team.
During her five seasons at Corinthians - between 2016 and 2021 - she became the club's top scorer of all time, in addition to being a key player in all seven titles won by the team in that period: Copa do Brasil 2016, Copa do Brasil 2017, Copa Libertadores, Brasileiros 2018, 2020 and 2021 and Paulistas 2019 and 2020.
At Madrid CCF, Gabi Nunes played 58 games and left her mark with 17 goals and 11 assists. Now, the player is free on the market and awaits proposals to decide her next destination, in addition to preparing herself with the expectation of representing Brazil in the Women's World Cup.
As a Better Collective ambassador, Gabi Nunes will be at the Brazilian iGaming Summit, where she will interact with the public and sign autographs. The CEO of the group in South America, Simon Hovmand-Stilling, will also be present.
Leading Better Collective's entry into South America and working towards the vision of becoming the world's leading digital sports media group, Danish executive Simon Hovmand-Stilling left Copenhagen to move to Brazil and become the group's CEO in South America. In addition to opening the company's first office in the region, which will open soon in Rio de Janeiro, he will lead the team present at BiS SiGMA Americas.
“At Better Collective, we are looking at women's football and have formed several partnerships with female ambassadors over the years,” comments Simon. “We believe that this World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand, will receive a lot of attention and bring the sport to a true global spotlight. That's why we are so excited to announce our partnership with one of Brazil's greatest players."
Women's football has grown in popularity over the past decade. Many of Europe's top leagues have increased investment in base development, stadiums and tournament infrastructure. This went hand in hand with increasing media coverage and fan attendance, as well as achievements in equal pay for the male and female representatives of the national teams of Spain, England, Wales, Denmark and the United States.
“According to FIFA, the 2019 World Cup was watched by more than 1.1 billion people across the planet, a great advance compared to previous years,” comments Simon. “And we expect this year's tournament to be even bigger as media companies around the world follow in the footsteps of European and North American broadcasters, showing these matches to a wider audience.”
In Brazil, for example, the World Cup will be broadcast for the first time on the country's largest television network, Rede Globo. Last year, a new attendance record for women's football was achieved in the final of the Brazilian Championship, which saw more than 40,000 fans follow Corinthians and Internacional, the largest attendance in Latin America.
With a vision to become the leading digital sports media group, Better Collective owns and operates international and local sports media and communities that aim to make sports entertainment sustainable and fun.
Through its online media, the group provides content, data insights, betting tips and educational tools to sports fans around the world. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm (BETCO), Better Collective's portfolio includes: Action Network, VegasInsider.com, HLTV.org, FUTBIN.com and betsexpert.com. The group has offices in several countries, including Sweden, the United States, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
