The archrivals from Minas Gerais are in the TOP 3 of those who bet the most last year, according to the study. Cruzeiro fans occupy the first position in this ranking, with 45% of those surveyed claiming to have bet on some site. Atlético supporters appear in third place, with 37%.
Between Cruzeiro and Atlético is Bahia, in second place, with 40% of fans who said they had made a sports bet in 2022.
According to the "Attendees Report", R$ 31 billion (US$ 6.4b) was the consumption of bets declared by the study's respondents.

Betano and Betfair
Atlético and Cruzeiro are sponsored by major bookmakers. Betano, a company from Portugal, stamps its brand on the noblest part of the athletic jersey. The English Betfair, on the other hand, is in the most valuable space on Cruzeiro's jersey.
Research methodology
According to the organization of the "Attendees Report", the personal quantitative research was carried out through a semi-structured questionnaire. Information was collected via the internet in the main cities of Brazil.
The field was carried out between October 14 and 28, 2022, and the survey was carried out with the population aged 16 years or older, residing in the study area. 2100 interviews were carried out in 2022, with a margin of error of 2% and a confidence level of 95%, according to the organizers.
