ANJL and Conar sign deal for advertising self-regulation in Brazil’s sports betting sector

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) and the National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation (Conar) signed an agreement to define rules for advertisements in the sports betting sector. The construction of the guidelines will be done with the aim of defining the best practices in the information released by the companies, covering principles such as transparency, integrity and social responsibility.

"Ethical advertising is critical to our growth," says Wesley Cardia, executive chairman of ANJL. "By adhering to advertising self-regulation, we are making progress in our purpose of disseminating honest and responsible gambling."

With this initiative, ANJL and its associates join the efforts of the sports betting market to ensure a safe and credible environment for both bettors and other stakeholders involved, thus curbing any opportunistic and frivolous practices in advertisements in the sector.

Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector and responsible and honest gambling, always guided by the promotion of sports, betting security and contributing to the country's economic development.

Among the associates are galera.bet/PlayTech, Kaizen, Betano, Hebara, F12, PagBet, BetNacional, Mr. Jack, Primtemps, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, , Liderança Capitalização and Parimatch.

The agreement now signed adds to what Conar also closed a few days ago with the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR), which demonstrates how much the sports betting sector as a whole is imbued in the pursuit of socially responsible practices and how much the advertising self-regulation body is aware of the good practices that bookmakers have sought to validate their performance in the Brazilian market.
