GMB – How is business going for GamersBank, a recently launched payments institution?
Paulo Gerber – They are going very well. We launched GamersBank two or three months ago in an implementation handled with great care and care to make the evolution of our previous product, GamersCard, a prepaid card launched at a time when there was no bank as a service solution. So, the evolution of the product was this, to transform it into a digital account. With that, we give much more functionality to our customers with GamersBank. We are very happy to be strengthening our long-standing partnership with Acesso Soluções de Pagamentos, which created the Banky platform, recently acquired by Banco Votorantim.
In other words, a major player in the financial market joining GamersBank for understanding your importance as a payment institution for the poker and iGaming segments!
Exactly. We were very happy with the evolution of our partner Acesso, which makes the partnership even more robust. The myriad of products and solutions that we can offer our customers has increased a lot, as we now have access to the most varied products in the banking segment. This is invaluable in increasing the coverage we can deliver to partners and end customers.
We are aware of GamersBank's strong presence in the poker market. How is this segment and the Brazilian Series of Poker 2023 going?
Poker has grown a lot. Brazil is perhaps the market, in world terms, with the highest growth. The population has a very large adherence to the sport. There is a population with a very large number of young people who still didn't know about online poker. Face-to-face poker has grown a lot, like the BSOP, WSOP and KSOP. We've had the recent inclusion as well with GGPoker which is also doing very well along with other poker sites. A lot of new things appear in this universe and there are still big spaces for growth.
As long as poker is growing, will GamersBank grow with it?
For sure. We will be together. Our DNA of proximity to poker is very strong. The market is fantastic, with many opportunities and we are happy to evolve together.
What is your evaluation of BiS SiGMA, which has become a global event?
I confess that I thought I was in London, on ICE. The size of the event is impressive and the profile of the exhibitors is second to none in the world. I am impressed and the BiS SiGMA has exceeded my expectations. I'm glad to see how much our industry has grown. This is a step forward and the next events in Brazil will be much bigger and the country will be the hub of Latin America when it comes to iGaming. The entire organization of SiGMA and the BiS event are to be congratulated.
May your feeling about the sector become a springboard for GamersBank to grow even more in the Brazilian market.
Absolutely and we count on it. Our proximity to what is done in iGaming is very important. It's a mutual leverage and we all grow, increasing the market and making it more professional, controlled and more organized, with serious people working. This is healthy and promising.
