The gaming industry mourns the loss of Sergey Karshkov, the renowned Russian co-founder of international leading online bookmaker 1xBet.
At the age of 42, Karshkov tragically passed away while undergoing a medical procedure in Switzerland.
The news was initially disclosed by Pavel Muntyan, a producer at the esteemed Russian animation studio Toonbox, who took to Facebook to express his profound disbelief.
Muntyan explained that Karshkov was in Switzerland for a checkup. The contrast fluids the hospital used to prepare him for an MRI allegedly caused an allergic reaction when he was placed in the MRI machine. This unforeseen reaction plunged him into a coma from which he unfortunately never recovered.
Born in Ukraine’s Kyiv region in 1980, Sergey Karshkov later relocated to Bryansk, Russia. He established himself as a prominent figure in the regional department of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he led the department responsible for combatting cybercrime.
Games Magazine Brasil sends its condolences to Karshkov’s relatives, friends and the entire 1xBet team around the world
