Paralyzed due to the vote on matters of an economic nature, the CPI that investigates match-fixing in Brazilian football will meet again this Wednesday (12th), when it will vote on 33 requests that are on the agenda.
Among them, the collegiate will appreciate requests to hear from the directors of the IBJR (Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming), Andre Gelfi; the ANJL (National Association of Games and Lotteries), Wesley Cardia; and IBIA (International Betting Integrity Association), Khalid Ali.
In addition, the agenda includes a request for representatives of companies associated with the IBJR to be heard, as well as the CEO of EstrelaBet, João Gerçossimo, and Pixbet partner, Ernildo Júnior.
The parliamentarians must still vote on the approval of a request that asks the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, about the project to regulate Law 13.756/18 that legalized sports betting in Brazil.
The CPI intends to hold a public hearing to discuss the issue with the society and must approve the invitation for Wilson Seneme, president of the Arbitration Commission of the Brazilian Football Conference, to participate in the meeting.
Deputies will also vote on invitations for Wladimyr Carmargos and José Francisco Manssur, responsible for drawing up the regulation of sports betting, to speak about current legislation, the stage at which regulation is found and how it takes place in other countries.
Contrary to the important progress in the regulation of sports betting, the collegiate will also vote on the invitation for Ricardo Gazel, representative of the Brazil without Gaming Movement, to be heard.
Players and former footballers complete the list, such as Nikolas Farias, Paulo Sérgio, Allan Godói, André Luís, Mateusinho, Ygor Catatau, Vinícius Goes Barbosa de Souza, Gabriel Tota, Leone Barros Costa Jr., Richard Coelho, Severino de Ramos (Nino), Onitlasi Jr., Jarro Pereira and Festo Omukoto, as well as athletes from the Iranduba team, from the Amazonense Football Championship and Luiz Taveira (player manager). There are also requests for the hearing of football referees who participated in games identified as being involved in the betting manipulation scheme.
In addition, the CPI must analyze requests for information from the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and the Fraud Office of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro.
