According to the survey, the perceived benefits are mainly an increase in confidence in accessing betting sites (42%), more security for bettors (40%) and transparency of the information offered by the houses (39%).
When analyzing the perception of fraud, 45% of people believe that it will decrease, but there are still 22% who do not believe that this scenario will change. In the security scenario, 44% believe that there will be more security after regulation, but there are still 32% of people without a formed opinion.
Half of bettors are unlikely to change habits after regulation
Among regular bettors, 54% intend to continue betting in the same way, but 31% say they will reduce the frequency of bets.
Among those who do not currently bet, most do not have an opinion about the situation, and among those who do, 34% do not intend to start betting, even with official regulations.
Thinking that after the regulation of sports betting sites/applications companies will have their headquarters in Brazil, 37% of Brazilians believe that the fact will contribute to job creation in the country. Furthermore, 55% believe that the number of people betting will increase with regulation.
Methodology
In May of this year, 501 Brazilians aged over 18 were interviewed, distributed across all social classes and residents of the country's five major regions. Of these, 51% are female and 49% are male.
