Abradie is a non-profit organization created to protect the integrity and future of Brazilian sport, raising the awareness of athletes, teams, sports leagues, federations, consumers and other key players in the market against match-fixing and corruption related to sports betting.
The entity has just joined the LBF - Women's Basketball League, the first exclusive entity for women's sport.
“At a time when sport as a whole is under the threat of match-fixing, it is extremely important that we participate in all kinds of action to curb this evil. By associating with Abradie, we reaffirm our commitment to transparency with the sport and make available the entire universe of our league, with the collaboration of affiliated clubs, their athletes and technical commissions,” declared Valter Ferreira, president of LBF.
Created earlier this year, the association brings together sports experts, regulators, government and sports betting industry professionals to develop a robust regulatory model, based on best practices to protect consumers and ensure the integrity of sport.
The first action of the partnership will be a seminar aimed at clubs and athletes from the Women's Basketball League on raising awareness of the issue, which should be held during the recess period of the championship for the participation of the Brazilian team in Americup, played in early July, in Mexico.
The LBF becomes the first exclusive entity for women's sports to join the list of sports organizations affiliated to the association, such as the National Basketball League (LNB), the National Futsal League (LNF) and the Athletico Paranaense Club.
One of the founders of Abradie is Genius Sports, an official partner of the LBF and the official holder of the rights to the statistical data of the Women's Basketball League.
