“LiveMode's success is the result of Brazilians' passion for sport and the partnerships we have”

The sports betting market has been surprising with excellent marketing campaigns developed by LiveMode, a company that operates on several fronts, including CazéTV, partnerships with TNT, the São Paulo Football Federation and FIFA. GMB spoke with Maurício Portela, who highlighted that “betting is entertainment and with our work we unite sportsbooks with the passion of Brazilians for sport.”

GMB – LiveMode has been developing important advertising campaigns and marketing work for the gaming and sports betting sector. We would like you to talk about this moment in the company.

– We participated in BiS SiGMA and were impressed with the size of the fair, which demonstrates that the market is responding positively. We have been doing very interesting projects with some partners. One of them is with the Paulista Football Federation, one of our main partners, where we have several important sponsorships. In addition, we have a long-term agreement with FIFA and are very excited to start broadcasting the Women's World Cup. And we cannot fail to mention the Brazilian Championship, in which we are doing an excellent job together with TNT.
That is, a lot of good things happening and a chance to connect Brazilian fans with the fun that comes from the betting market.

How are sports bookmakers seeing these campaigns and approaching LiveMode to say “I want it too”?
It has been a very good partnership. Football and the fun of being able to bet and choose, among friends, gives emotion and for the bookmakers this makes a lot of sense because in that moment of fun and the fan's passion, they being present will reinforce the brand and attract them to have fun on their platforms.

Is developing projects like these in LiveMode's DNA?
Yes. We created the company with this vision of helping the sports market – federations, FIFA and the Brazilian Championship – to approach and talk to the advertising and broadcast markets. And it's been really interesting to see the size of the betting market and how we can create different products for the segment.

What is your expectation regarding the growth of the sports betting market in Brazil?
We're still growing a lot. We are at the beginning of this journey. Brazilians are very fond of sports and betting has come to add a little extra fun, providing an important connection that did not exist in the past. Today, it's cool to see any game because you decided for one team or another in a bet.

Are there two fans, one for the favorite team and the other for the result of the bet?
And sometimes it's not even your team that's playing and you end up cheering for a club after placing a R$5 bet for fun.

Betting is entertainment?
Exactly. Betting is fun and entertainment. Anyone who says they make money in betting, doubt it. The bet is to have fun and get emotional and add grace to whatever game we are watching.
