Notice issued in state of Paraná

Lottopar will accredit testing and certification laboratories for the gaming and lottery sector

The Government of the state of Paraná in Brazil, through Lottopar, launched Public Notice No. 2/2023 to accredit laboratories for the gaming and lottery sector. With it, operators will be able to obtain certifications and carry out tests of their equipment and systems to operate in Paraná, being able to choose companies headquartered in Brazil.

The initiative is a pioneer in the country and will allow the State to demand the highest international standards from its operators and the security of offering lottery operations tested and validated by market specialists. Currently, lottery operators need to resort to international companies for such analyses.

“The laboratories play a fundamental role in bringing and scientifically proving the quality and reliability of the software and equipment offered to the public. This brings security to the State and, above all, to the citizens of Paraná who are going to place bets,” guarantees the CEO of Lottopar, Daniel Romanowski.

One of the main objectives for accreditation of testing and certification laboratories is to guarantee the integrity of the games. In this way, an environment of security and reliability is guaranteed for bettors.

Another aspect analyzed by the laboratories is the security and performance analysis of the software used in the games. “Thorough tests are carried out to prevent any manipulation or undue tampering with the results, protecting the integrity of the system as a whole,” details Romanowski.

In addition, the laboratories ensure that everything complies with the laws, rules and regulations established by gaming and lottery authorities, maintaining the legality of operations.

In the case of Paraná, one of the rules for companies to exploit fixed-quota bets, already published in a notice, is that they be accredited by the State or an equivalent institution, that is, they meet established technical requirements.

The public notice opened by the municipality requires companies to have legal representation in Brazil, in addition to presenting documents that prove specific knowledge of the gaming and lottery industry.
