Along with part of its technical team, Enildo Júnior Farias and Tadeu Dantas stated that it is an honor for the company to have the opportunity to legalize itself in the country with the Loterj brand.
“You are opening a very important door for us here in Rio de Janeiro. I must congratulate the entire Loterj team for their agility, responsibility and confidence in our work. We are all very excited about the innovation proposed by Loterj to grow our market in the state and in the country with sports betting and other types of online gaming,” highlighted Ernildo.
Pixbet will go into operation as accredited by Loterj in sports betting in the coming days, having already gone through the PoC – Proof of Concept, which analyzed not only the documentation, but also all the technical aspects required in the Accreditation Public Notice.
Last week ended the deadline with Loterj for companies interested in operating in the State to seek accreditation. In addition to Pixbet, already accredited, as well as Rede Loto, six more companies submitted the documentation required by the Accreditation Public Notice.
Future operators will pay R$ 5 million (US$ 1m) for the five-year grant and remuneration of 5% on the GGR for Loterj. The big news in this process, after the publication of Provisional Measure (PM) 1,182/2023 that regulates the activity in Brazil, Loterj made changes to its Notice and, with that, will allow the commercialization of sports betting throughout Brazil.
According to Loterj's understanding, companies accredited by the agency will be able to market their products outside the state limits, since the operation itself will be headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. Among the justifications for this understanding, Loterj pointed to the end of the monopoly of lottery operations by the Federal Supreme Court.
In addition, it pointed out that because it is located in Rio de Janeiro, the Autarchy is able to accredit companies to operate sports betting under an integrated system installed in the autarchy itself, which would not exceed the territorial limits of Rio de Janeiro. Only the commercialization, in the understanding of Loterj, can happen in any place.
Even in the contestation of an objection filed by Caixa Econômica Federal, Loterj highlighted what determines the federal law that provides for the ISS: “the service is considered to be provided, and the tax due, at the place of the establishment providing it or, in the absence of an establishment, at the place of domicile of the service provider.” That is, at Loterj's headquarters.
