Each new episode of the podcast will be online every Tuesday at 10 am (local time) and will feature, among other things, the TOP 7, which will highlight the main news of the week, also having as source Games Magazine Brasil, project partner, among other websites.

The Brazilian Lounge, a group that brings together some of the most renowned professionals in the gaming sector in Brazil, was born last year, with its debut at G2E, in Las Vegas, crowned with success at ICE London and, more recently, with an impressive presence at BiS SiGMA Americas.

The idea of the podcast was already being matured and now, with the edition of Provisional Measure (PM) 1.182/2023 that regulates sports betting in Brazil, it has reached its peak with the launch of the first episode, called the “pilot” of the Brazilian Lounge Podcast.

The podcast team is composed by Witoldo Hendrich (Online IPS), Ricardo Magri (Brazilian Lounge), Alessandro Valente (co-founder of Brazilian Lounge) and Flávio Figueiredo (iGaming Group).

In the first episode, Witoldo, Magri and Valente received the CEO of Games Magazine Brasil, Carlos Cardama, already presented by the Brazilian Lounge as “a legend of the gaming sector”. In the chat, the hosts discussed the strength of gaming activity in Brazil, what the sector represents for the country's economy and the strong presence of hundreds of bookmakers offering their services to the Brazilian public.

Already at the premiere, the show presented the “TOP 7”, a news section with the main novelties of the week, including articles published by Games Magazine Brasil. The subjects were analyzed by the podcast team and with comments from Carlos Cardama.

After being greeted by the conductor of the podcast Ricardo Magri, the CEO of GMB highlighted that “the gaming sector brings great joy to all governments of countries that have a well-established law. That's why we expect the same for Brazil.”

The hottest subjects were addressed at the first meeting, with emphasis on Provisional Measure 1.182/2023 that regulates sports betting in Brazil, with comments on some of the 244 amendments presented by parliamentarians, the advancement of sports sponsorship and the importance of the activity for generation of jobs and taxes.

There was also talk about the taxation itself, which is high by the standards the sector is used to in developed countries where the activity is regulated, the legal aspects of the PM and the possibility of it expiring so that it can be regulated along with the legal framework for gaming in the Brazil.

eSports were also discussed in view of the growth in betting on this modality, as well as other gaming verticals about to be discussed when Bill 442/1991, approved by the Chamber of Deputies, is discussed in the Senate.

Even a possible fight between billionaires and heavyweights of global digital business Elon Musk (Twitter) and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook/Meta) was the subject of comments by participants in the first episode of the podcast, with doubts about how much the odds would be on the bets for one or the other if this fight will happen or not.

One of the unanimities during the broadcast was the question of the Brazilian government's delay in regulating sports betting and legalizing the other gaming verticals in the country.

The great motto of the first episode was the presence of Carlos Cardama, for all his experience in the Brazilian gaming sector. Pioneer in communication in the bingo sector, with the printed magazine Games Magazine, which culminated in the launch of the online news portal Games Magazine Brasil.

He was praised for being a trailblazer, covering not only the bingo industry, but also casinos and the world's main fairs in the more than 4,000 pages printed over many years.

In addition to discussing current issues that attract the attention of major global players, Cardama told peculiar facts about the sector and personalities who made and some who still make the history of the gaming sector in Brazil.

The next episode will be on air next Tuesday (22nd), with new personalities participating in the Brazilian Lounge Podcast.
