Loterj renews partnership with RioSolidario to assist women victims of violence in RJ

In the month of Awareness for the End of Violence against Women, the State Government, through the Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro – Loterj, renewed the partnership with RioSolidario to assist women victims of domestic violence. Over 12 months, the Casa Abrigo Lar da Mulher project will receive a total of R$ 2,624,670.46 (US$ 526,000).

The Casa Abrigo Lar da Mulher project, which has been in existence for over 15 years, consists of assisting women victims of domestic violence who are at imminent risk of death and their children.

President of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado highlights that supporting Casa Abrigo will be another way of reaffirming the body’s social commitment:

“Loterj once again stands out in the allocation of resources to social projects with the renewal of the partnership with the Casa Abrigo Lar da Mulher project, by RioSolidario. I am sure that this resource will make a significant contribution to the lives of these women and their children who need support and security to restore their lives.”

To serve the aforementioned public, Casa Abrigo is open 24 hours a day, with capacity for 60 people, including women and children, with 15 rooms, activity rooms and a nursery arranged in an area of 1,300 square meters installed in a secret location.

“Managed by RioSolidario, Casa Abrigo Lar da Mulher is a refuge for women facing the terrible reality of domestic violence. The continuous promotion is not just an investment in four walls, but a way to rebuild lives, restore hope and offer a genuine chance of starting over,” highlighted Analine Castro, honorary president of RioSolidario.

“Each support received is a message of solidarity that echoes louder than words, demonstrating that society cares and is committed to breaking the cycle of abuse,” reinforced Analine.

In addition to the Casa Abrigo Lar da Mulher project, Loterj allocates 70% of its net income to other social projects, such as the Surf Praia Para Todos Project, which offers free surf lessons to young women at risk, people with disabilities and the elderly.
