Minister of Tourism Celso Sabino prepares discussion on casinos in Brazil

The Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Celso Sabino, will participate in a luncheon promoted by the Parliamentary Front of Entrepreneurship to discuss the regulation of casinos, bingos and other games of chance in Brazil. Currently, Bill 442/1991 is running in the National Congress, which has already been approved in the Chamber. The meeting will be held on Tuesday (22) this week.

The news was raised by the Blog at Noblat, at Metropoles, this weekend.

Congressmen who defend the release of gaming in the country say that the collection could reach up to R$ 20 billion (US$ 4bn) per year and generate up to 650 thousand direct and indirect jobs.

Sabino, when he was a congressman, was already in favor of regulation.

If Bill 442 is approved in the Senate, casinos can be managed by resorts or leisure complexes, with a series of prerequisites such as restaurants, number of hotel rooms, among others.

The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco has already signaled that the regulation of sports betting can pave the way for the release of casinos in the country.

There is still no forecast for the topic to be put up for discussion.
