According to Riot, Carlos will "lead the strategy and execution of the LoL eSports ecosystems in the Americas" and will be transferred from Brazil to the city of Los Angeles, in the United States, where the company's headquarters are located. The executive will report directly to the director of eSports in the Americas, Raul Fernandez, and the general director of eSports of LoL, Naz Aletaha.

Antunes joined Riot in 2016 as Brazil Director of eSports, where he oversaw the strategic direction of the region's entire eSports portfolio, including operations, business development, content and broadcast.
Antunes played a key role in the development of CBLOL, which has seen continued revenue and audience growth year over year since 2018. He has led strategic partnerships and business development initiatives with notable partners such as Gillette, Mastercard, Red Bull, Santander, Heineken and Nestle.
In addition to his contributions to CBLOL, Antunes has worked closely with League's eSports leadership team to strategically support the LLA and LCS over the past six months.

Prior to Riot, Antunes worked as a leader in digital strategy at several agencies, including DM9DDB, Artplan/Gruda, GEO Eventos and Esporte Interativo. He graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In his passionate pursuit of storytelling and content creation, Antunes is also a graduate of the Los Angeles Film School and the International Film Academy.
