GMB - What do Carla and SOFTSWISS have in common and what can each one offer the other? What are your goals as a regional business development manager?
Carla Dualib
- Carla is passionate about sports and technology. And SOFTSWISS is undoubtedly the best technology company in the segment. There are more than 15 years of experience in iGaming and technology, with more than 800 sites that use SOFTSWISS worldwide, including Brazil. So I feel absolutely honored to be part of this SOFTSWISS Team. It is a continuous learning process for me. I am sure that by adding my networking and expertise with this fantastic company, the results will be invaluable.

But what can each one offer the other at a time when the market is considerable growing in Brazil?
Like I say, my networking in the sports, betting and business domains is very extensive, as is my knowledge of the industry. Adding this to technology, there are bound to be good results. It is this combination of expertise that will be a win-win. We have actually already seen new milestones achieved in this short time together.

We wish both SOFTSWISS and Carla Duailib success in this regard. Let it be a two-way street for both parties. How is SOFTSWISS' current relationship with the Brazilian market? You already work with clients in the country, but how is this being expanded?
SOFTSWISS has an excellent relationship with the Brazilian market and with large local companies. We already have several clients in the region and we are negotiating with other important players.

The main driver is the sheer number of people and the engagement we see in the player activity. We perceive this as a significant signal for growth and expansion. We see that the market has been growing very quickly. Since the pandemic, this growth has been resounding, all due to globalization and growth throughout Latin America. Not only that, but the iGaming community and local authorities have started to develop as well, which is great.

The Brazilian government has already carried out surveys to estimate the size of the market and is implementing regulatory mandates, which we have been received with great joy. Many potential clients have already done their research and compared SOFTSWISS solutions with those available in the Latin American market. Some have shared these discoveries with us. It is very exciting to realize that we are one step ahead in terms of product, technology and quality of services.

We have already taken some important steps in the Brazilian market, mainly with our Game Aggregator, a unique hub that offers thousands of casino and sports betting games. In an organic way, it aligns with all the products available on the market. There are many good things to come, and I see SOFTSWISS is on the right track.

Many things to come... The regulation of sports betting is coming and the first step was taken with the publication of a Provisional Measure (PM), but important steps are still missing, such as the bill that will stipulate the grants and ordinances for practical operations. What are SOFTSWISS' first conclusions regarding this new law? What do you expect with this movement?
We understand, like everyone else, that regulation is fundamental. But it's still too early to say anything. It is an absolutely pertinent and necessary subject. We need to study and follow all the rules.

Anyway, we’ve done several evaluations and we have talked with many operators. They point out that the taxes and fees set by the PM presented by the federal government is one of the highest in the world, which can make competition a little difficult. There is nothing better than a regulated, formalized and competitive market. This ends up protecting society and raising money for its benefit. We are absolutely aligned on this.

But it's still a little early to take a stand and, as you said, there are still things to come. I recently saw that the Minister of Tourism is also preparing to discuss other gaming verticals, such as casinos associated with integrated resorts and bingo. If approved by the Senate, casinos will be able to operate, with numerous prerequisites of course. It is fundamental and we will be in line with everything provided for by law.

The international market itself is increasingly competitive, with many companies offering the same solutions. In this context, SOFTSWISS stands out in technological development as a role model in iGaming. What is this due to? What sets you apart from other companies?
There are some things that significantly differentiate us. The first advantage, which I consider fundamental, is our server uptime. We have more than 15 years of experience in iGaming. Considering the size of the market, it surprises us a lot that there still seems to be a problem for competitors in Latin America not to have stability on their servers. Our software was designed to handle all heavy loads and we prioritized this aspect from the beginning.

We understand the critical importance for operators. We have an infrastructure of local servers and we optimize all this connection stability and data transfer speed. We are practically at 100% stability. Another important thing is that our solutions have been tested in practice by key operators in the sector.

Another fundamental advantage is the client centric approach we use with with the operators. We place a strong emphasis on communication and actively incorporate their feedback into our work.

Our goal is not only to provide the best solutions for our clients , but to contribute to their business growth. We see our clients’ success as our success. We are true partners and that is why we share countless insights with operators. We go beyond offering support and technology. Although they have access to excellent software and can handle it themselves, sometimes they need additional support and a quick resolution of an issue – we are in a position to provide that.

I see SOFTSWISS as a company that is constantly monitoring and improving products, ensuring continuous development. SOFTSWISS is a company that is highly adaptable to needs and responds promptly to requests. Depending on the needs of our partners, we are ready and able to expand their business and resolve any issues. We are customer centric that way.

You mentioned earlier about the Game Aggregator, one of the most extensive aggregators on the market. How does SOFTSWISS choose the best games to serve audiences so different in taste and culture?
The Game Aggregator is amazing. We use a very diverse approach to selecting games and catering to different jurisdictions around the world. In terms of taste and culture, there is a very careful analysis and you spoke very well about the issue of game preference in each region.

We take into account popular factors, preferred game styles and market trends. We try to fill our portfolio with different needs. We have world-renowned brands, studios that focus on markets we're entering, and game providers. We have an excellent network with the best in the business. We offer studios that are the most popular in Latin America.

We understand that the Game Aggregator is the biggest game hub for iGaming brands. We have approximately 16 thousand games, from 200 studios. We support all types of popular games in Latin America, which are also crypto-ready. We also have a spectacular Tournament Tool, which allows to create and manage tournaments in-game. This is available to the Game Aggregator clients. In addition to games, we can’t not highlight the gamification and tournament features.

In other words, increasingly standing out in the competitive global market!
Exactly. Undoubtedly, this is what we plan to do!

What are SOFTSWISS' plans for this second half of the year and what are Carla's plans, heading up the business development road?
Our plan is to continue to advance the business in Brazil and Latin America, bringing in more partners and clients, and promoting our technology as much as possible.

And my plans are to get more and more involved with the technology and our partners. We are a large group and we want to be present at the largest possible events and to learn more and more about market developments, all the while presenting our technology and bringing in new partners so that we can grow together, and generate great results for our operators.
