GGPoker and KSOP announce the biggest poker event in Brazil

GGPoker and the Kings Series of Poker (KSOP) announced that Barra de Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro will host the KSOP GGPoker South America, the “biggest poker event in South America” to date. Based at the Riocentro Convention & Event Center, the event will start on January 24, 2024 and will offer R$35 million (US$7m) in guaranteed prizes.

The main event guarantees R$ 10 million (US$ 2m), and a buy-in of R$ 5,000 (US$ 1,000). The winner will also receive an additional prize of R$ 2 million (US$ 408,000).

In addition to the main event, there will be more than 70 tournaments throughout the two weeks that "promise to shake up the poker community like never before in Brazil."

The satellite events to qualify for the main event will begin on November 5 at GGPoker, where there will also be packages for the 15 days of the event.

According to a statement from KSOP, the “most glamorous event of KSOP GGPoker South America”, Super High Roller, will have a buy-in of R$100,000 (US$20,000) and will feature “Brazilian and international poker stars.”

It is a great joy to be able to hold an event of this magnitude in Brazil. We want our country to become a host for players from all over the world and the R$100,000 tournament will be a unique moment,” said Felipe Mojave, Brazilian player and GGPoker ambassador, who confirmed that he will participate in the event.

Both GGPoker and the owner of KSOP, King Eventos, say that this event will be the largest in South America, both for the guaranteed prizes and for the prize that the champion of the main event will take, highlighted as "the highest value of any event of the circuit.”

Kings Eventos has 9 years of experience in organizing poker-related activities. It is also responsible for the Sertanejo Circuit and the launch of the Liga Gaúcha de Póker (which was later acquired by MTT Eventos).
