Founded in 2004, Better Collective has a portfolio of national and international sports media brands where sports fans can access articles and videos, betting tips and educational tools on a global scale. Through its online media, the company is aligned with the main objectives of the IBJR, such as the promotion of a safer and more sustainable sector for bettors and operators, an initiative that gains importance in view of the imminent regulation of the market in Brazil and the new guidelines advertising self-regulation.
In recent months, the partnership between the IBJR and the National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation (Conar) has gained relevance, focusing on the creation and implementation of rules and activities related to advertising and communication in the sector in the country. The media group also proposes to further improve the debate in view of the approval of Provisional Measure (PM) No. 1,182, of July 24 of this year, which will regulate sports betting.
The advance in the debates will be based on the guidelines for sustainability and long-term growth of the iGaming industry, which depend on responsible and legalized operations.
"We are delighted to join the IBJR. For Better Collective, as co-founder of Responsible Affiliates in Gambling (RAIG) in the UK and majority owner of Mindway AI, issues such as compliance and safe sports betting have always been central areas of our operations. We look forward to contributing our international experience to the IBJR and continuing to collaborate with members working for the sustainable, consumer-centric development of the Brazilian market,” said Better Collective Latin America CEO Simon Hovmand-Stilling.
For the CEO of the IBJR, André Gelfi: “This new member joins the institute to contribute with all his knowledge, performance and national and international experience in communication between the sports betting sector, players and good regulatory practices. Better Collective is in line with the IBJR’s mission to make sports betting a sustainable, safe and fun entertainment option.”
From now on, the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming increases its representation in the national market with 14 companies. There are ten international sports betting operators (Bet365, Flutter, Entain, Betsson Group, Betway Group, Yolo Group, Netbet Group, KTO Group, Novibet and LeoVegas), a fantasy games company (Rei do Pitaco), two from the payment sector (Pay4Fun and Grupo OKTO) and a media group (Better Collective).
The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) was born from the union of the Bet365, Flutter, Entain, Betsson Group, Betway Group, Yolo Group, Netbet Group, KTO Group, Rei do Pitaco, Novibet and LeoVegas with the aim of promoting the debate on the regulation of this segment in Brazil, contributing with information to defend the creation of clear rules and guidelines so that sports betting companies can operate legally, protecting the interests of players and civil society.
Currently, in addition to iGaming and sports betting companies, the IBJR has among its members payment methods companies such as Grupo OKTO and Pay4Fun, and media groups such as Better Collective.
