Order to Anatel not yet fulfilled

Justice determines that bookmaker Blaze be offline throughout Brazil

The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) must comply with the determination of the Justice of São Paulo to take down the website of the bookmaker Blaze throughout Brazil. The company is one of those mentioned in the CPI of the Financial Pyramids. The decision is from yesterday (5) afternoon, but the site is still active. The judge also ordered to block the Instagram profile of influencer Juju Ferrari, who also promotes Blaze services.

The blocking request was made on August 22nd by the 2nd Tax Crimes, Criminal Organization and Laundering of Assets and Values of São Paulo. In addition to blocking the site, judge Guilherme Eduardo Martins Kellner also ordered the removal of the Instagram profile of influencer Juju Ferrari, who also promotes Blaze services.

The information was anticipated by the ABC 360 Notícias news outlet and confirmed by Itatiaia. According to the document signed by Anatel's Inspection Superintendent, Marcelo Alves da Silva, the Blaze website must be blocked immediately. Despite the decision having been signed at 3:05 pm, the site is still online.

In the decision, the judge cites crash bets, in which the player "tests his luck" by trying to hit the right moment to get out and make a profit. The magistrate classifies the modality as "gambling corresponding to software generally acquired outside the country."

“In order to demonstrate the existence of fraud in the sale of signals for gambling, it was found that there were thousands of complaints made by people on the ‘Reclame Aqui’ website, as well as police reports,” quotes the judge in the process.

The profile of Juju Ferrari cited in the lawsuit is offline, but the Itatiaia report found another profile recently created by her, in which she continues to publicize Blaze.

Blaze is the target of allegations

Blaze is the target of thousands of complaints throughout Brazil. Itatiaia brought, in July, the report of a group of residents of Belo Horizonte who would have suffered a loss of R$ 6 million (US$ 1.2m) after being convinced by an influencer to “invest” through the Blaze platform. One of the victims claimed to have invested money in the hope of being able to pay for her son's treatment.

Blaze is also a target of the Financial Pyramids CPI (or Cryptoasset CPI). The parliamentarians even summoned the presidents of Santos and Atlético Goianiense, teams sponsored by Blaze, to testify. Andres Rueda, agent of the São Paulo team, confirmed that the club received R$ 45 million (US$ 9.1m) for a two-year contract, with R$ 25 million (US$ 5.05m) paid in cash and the remainder divided into 23 installments. According to him, the amount has been paid regularly.
