Game directors from Spanish communities visit Zitro in Barcelona

Throughout the week, various gaming authorities from Andalusia, the Valencian Community, La Rioja, and Catalonia visited Zitro's technological campus in Barcelona. The directors of the renowned global supplier of video slots for casinos, located in the Catalan capital, accompanied the regulators during the visit.

This morning, the Director General of Taxes and Gambling of the Valencian Community, Inmaculada Domínguez Calomarde, the Director General of Taxes, Financing, Financial Relations with Local Corporations, and Gambling of the Andalusian Regional Government, Jesús Ignacio Pérez Aguilera, and the Director General of Taxes of the Government of La Rioja, Jesús Ángel Garrido Martínez, and the Deputy General Director of Management and Control of Gambling and Betting of the Government of Catalonia, Rosa María García Moreno, visited the facilities of Zitro in Barcelona. There, they had the opportunity to witness firsthand the creative process behind each product.

Accompanied by Zitro members: Manuela Jiménez, Vice President, Marta Cuesta, Vice President of Product and Development, and Cristina García, Director of Institutional Relations, the authorities toured the various departments located at the Zitro Technological Campus. This campus is where the software development for video slot games, video bingo, and Electronic Bingo takes place, along with the design of hardware and projects for Zitro Digital, the online gaming division of Zitro.

Zitro’s campus accommodates more than 450 employees in 12,000 m2 dedicated to research and development, creation, development, and manufacturing of Zitro products. It also houses state-of-the-art video and sound recording studios, as well as a facility dedicated to the assembly and quality control of machines. All of this is contained within a sustainable building, reflecting Zitro’s commitment to the environment and its dedication to renewable energy, with a surface area of 528m² of solar panels and a charging station for electric vehicles.

Manuela Jiménez expressed gratitude, stating, “We are very thankful to the authorities for their interest in getting to know our Technological Campus. We take pride in showcasing our idea factory in detail, where Zitro’s great team turns them into unique experiences for players worldwide, using the most advanced technology in the market."

In 2021, Zitro set itself the ambitious goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 80%. The company has not only achieved this target but exceeded it by achieving a further 50% reduction by 2022. This reduction has been made possible by investing in the renewal of all IT equipment to make its offices more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Zitro’s commitment to sustainability is not limited to reducing its carbon footprint. The company has also made a major effort to switch to renewable energies. 100% of the electricity consumption at the Barcelona technology campus now comes from renewable sources.
